1996 | Ash is lost …. & pregnant
Ash is still separated from John and God. She is still pursuing the other man. She is lost, angry, resistant, and hurting. And she is pregnant….
1996 | Two key relationships
Two key relationships in John and Ash’s lives are introduced. Mr. Dwayne Wooten is their marriage counselor, discipler, and pastor. Mr. Don Martin takes them under his wing and begins teaching them financial literacy. They are both giants in their “industry”. Mr. Wooten in faith, Mr. Martin in real estate. Ash & John’s lives will be forever changed from these two relationships that God gave them.
1996 | Liar, always a liar
A changed man, John excitedly tells Ash of his experience with God. She calls him a liar, always a liar.
1996 | John asks Ash to come home
John goes to Promise Keepers - Tony Evans speaks on Hosea. John gets revelation from God and asks Ash to come home. She says yes. However…
Long time mentor Mr. Wooten suddenly passes leaving a gigantic gap in John & Ash's spiritual mentorship. Paul Estes (Bro. E) steps into Mr. Wooten's place and adopts John & Ash as his "Spiritual Grandchildren". Bro. E is still walking with them and talks to them each week to this day.
1996 | The Separation & Divorce
After many, many hurtful acts of lying, stealing, drugs, pornography, adultery, and extreme debt….. It just all crashed.
2001 | A sudden loss, but more provision

1992 | Meeting at the alter
Ash buys her 1st car and goes to get speakers put in it. Meets John for the 1st time
1996 | Loved & saved by a gracious God
John keeps hearing “take your life, kill yourself.” His head is so full of lies. He goes to the attic of their old house to hang himself and calls out to God. He feels love for the first time. Love gets past the fence… he is loved and saved by a gracious God.
We are completely broke, broken, and alone.
Ash & John move in with each other. Ash for the 1st time in her life, rebels against her parents wishes.
Ash & John get Married!! And…It is not as great as it sounds.
1996 | Ash’s surrender
Ash has a miscarriage. She does not know whose child she just lost. Desperate and falling to the floor, she cries out to God to save her from herself. She surrenders completely. She is scared, but she is sure she is loved and saved by God. She gets up off the floor different this time.
1997 | Beauty from Brokenness
Ash and John start walking the life of faith and building trust with one another. After both radical healings they had in their individual lives, they turn to their home and see it with different eyes. They knew if God could restore them, that He could restore a broken home. A broken neighborhood. A broken city. Beauty from Brokenness became the way that they see everything. Being true believers of hope and grace, they start the work. The hard, long work of restoration.
Ash and John are in full force restoring homes, moving homes, restoring downtown buildings. And, they welcome their 2nd boy this year - Joshua.
2002 | Restoring buildings & having babies!
John and Ash start a historic salvage company. The sophisticated hoarding begins.
2004 | Starting their third company!
2000 | Ash & John start Marsh Real Estate Investments
Ash and John start their real estate company. It is comprised of owner financed homes in their town; Opelika, Alabama. By this time they have restored approximately 15 homes.

2010 | John meets Brad Baggett
Brad comes and introduces himself to John, saying that he was told that they should meet. They have been close friends ever since. They enjoyed one another's company so much that they started a business just to work with each other. And, the beginnings of Marsh Collective, our consulting company, was been born. Our first client: Bradford Health Services.
2015 | John & Ash meet the Correll’s
John & Ash are continuously being told that they are so much like another couple, Jess and Angela Correll. So, John being John, calls Jess and says we were told we are like y’all and we need to meet and be friends. Jess said “Come on up”! John and Ash go for a blind date to meet who will become a mentor, a friend, and their primary banker.
2003 | Starting their second company
John speaks to the Auburn University Architecture School. He meets Ty Maloney that day. The rest is history..

2010-13 | The Reprieve, by Bradford, Thrives
John & Brad help Bradford Health Services accomplish tremendous growth financially and relationally. They realize that they have a gift to bring to companies that can bring great change. They start to think on how to offer this to others.
John and Ash, along with the Marsh Collective team, engage with multiple clients. Each of whom want their communities to be a place where people are thriving, businesses are growing, and lives are forever changed. To date, our team has done over 300 historic structures, and built over 60 operational businesses. The MC team continues to work at the intersection of purpose & profits in real estate, investing, starting businesses, hospitality, design, etc..
